Blocs 201 (Alliance and Cooperation)
- This course will focus on the importance of creating blocs and alliances with other delegates. Major focus points will include resolution mergers, note passing, and affirmative speeches. This course requires delegate to have a good understanding of the flow of committee so that they can have appropriate context. The activity for this seminar will be a short mock moderated caucus, in which delegates are sorted into blocs and assigned to play devil’s advocates positions. It is recommended that first-time delegates considering this course take the Model UN 101 courses Rules of Procedure 101 or Debate 101 instead.
Resolutions 202 (Resolution Writing)
- This course will focus on the application and usage of operative clauses, translation into formal language, and ability to write an effective resolution. Activities for delegates to practice the skills they learn will be determined by the instructor of this course at a later date. It is recommended that first-time delegates considering this course take the Model UN 101 course Research 101 instead.
Committees and Rules of Procedure 203 (Specialized Committees)
- This course will teach the skills required to participate in non-standard committees, such as the International Court of Justice, Joint Crisis Committees, and Historical Crisis Committees. It will also cover the Rules of Procedure for crisis situations. It is recommended that first-time delegates considering this course take the Model UN 101 course Rules of Procedure 101 instead.
